Establishment
Abyssinia Export Abattoir is a PLC Established in 2013 with a total investment of Birr 120 Million. The Company Head office is located in Addis Ababa, Bole SubCity, whereas the Abattoir's location is in Bishoftu City just 47Km away from the Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The Plant capacity
The plant is equipped with the state-of- the- art slaughtering machines directly imported from Germany, Turkey and Italy and erected by professionals from Turkey. The abattoir has a daily slaughtering capacity of 3,000 heads of goat or sheep and 300 heads of cattle or camels. There are nine cold rooms installed in the abattoir with the combined chilling capacity of 60 tones of meat at a time. It has also two blast rooms with aggregate capacity of making 30 tones of frozen meat in an hour.
Transportation capacity
The company owns three big cold trucks that can lift 25 tones of chilled meat at a time. Since the plant is only 47 km away from the Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, the truck s can lift more than 75 tones by making three trips.
Human Resources
The company gives due attention to its human resources development since it is the bases for the best performance of any company. Accordingly, the operation of the plant is lead by a highly qualified team of Professionals specialized in meat technologies. Currently, the company has employed over 120 dedicated skilled man power. When the plant starts working with full capacity it can employ over 250 people.The company gives skill upgrading training for its various departments to achieve its ambition of excelling in quality meat production.
